This is an ideal opportunity for watercolor artists to expand their skills. Participants will
explore techniques concentrating on composition, color, washes, glazes, and painting
wet-on-wet and in dry brush. Working in the studio, students will learn the importance
of drawing, developing a concept, composition, and values, helping the artist better
interpret what is seen. Classes include demonstrations, lots of hands-on time, and the
opportunity to study paintings in the Museum galleries, including work by Andrew
Wyeth and photorealist watercolors. Materials list mailed with confirmation.

The application of beautifully formed letters to an invitation, card, or a hand-bound
storybook is an art as old as language itself. This class is designed for students who
are just starting out or for calligraphers who want to invigorate their skills. Students will
warm up with the Chancery letterform, using pens and brushes. Moving beyond
letterforms, the class will cover envelope addressing, layout, design, patterns, and
decorative borders. Classes include demonstrations and lots of hands-on time.

Making Art Festivals

If you are an artist who wants to participate in art festivals or shows and want to use
your time and money effectively, this workshop is for you. Bruce Bunch combines
experience in marketing with participation in art festivals throughout the Southeast and
applies insights gained as a practicing artist to help other artists market their work.
Topics include the business of art, including marketing, promotion, set up and
equipment for a booth, and tips on how to display, price, and sell your work.
Demonstrations and hands-on time are included.

In this introductory painting class, you will discover that acrylic painting is not as scary
as it seems. Learn how to begin a painting, the basics of color mixing, how to create
lights and darks with color, and how to alter your paints to achieve a variety of effects.
Come with an open mind, and prepare to have fun! Materials list mailed with

Multimedia Art Techniques

Learn acrylic, oil, watercolor painting, and pastels along with sketching with pencils and
charcoal in the same class! You can choose your favorite medium for this
one-of-a-kind class to perfect your skills; or change mediums midstream. Here is your
opportunity to dive into a medium you have always wanted to try. The class is designed
to include insightful artist talks and demonstrations as well as lots of one-on-one
instruction. Materials list mailed with confirmation.
