Serious Drawing
for Middle School Students

This drawing program is for middle school students who want to develop and
strengthen their drawing skills as a foundation for a lifetime of creativity. Students begin
in the Museum art studios, working from still life compositions to learn the basic
elements of drawing, including line, shape, value, form, composition, and perspective.
Then, it’s off to the outdoors to sketch on location. Materials list online.

Learn to express yourself in pencil, charcoal, pen and ink. The class is about your
individual interpretation of what you see with your mind and eye, and then expressing it
in two dimensions. Originality, creativity and fun are critical! You'll discover the different
drawing techniques you can use to develop your own personal style. Explore the basic
elements of shape, proportion, scale perspective, contrast, and shading. Classes will
include demonstrations as well as plenty of individual attention. Supply list with

Learn acrylic, oil, watercolor painting, and pastels along with sketching with pencils and
charcoal in the same class! You can choose your favorite medium for this one-of-a-kind
class to perfect your skills; or change mediums midstream. Here is your opportunity to
dive into a medium you have always wanted to try. The class is designed to include
insightful artist talks and demonstrations as well as lots of one-on-one instruction.

Resource Center
The Greenville HRC is committed to providing quality education experiences to
homeschool students in the Greenville area. The center strives to provide a variety of
academic and enrichment opportunities for homeschool families.
Multimedia Art Classes meet at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Greer, SC on
Tuesdays from 9:00PM-3:30PM. The center offers art for ages 6-high school.

Bruce L Bunch offers private art lessons where children, teenagers and adults can start
anew, invigorate their skills, appreciate art, express their creativity and learn skills from
a professional experienced artist. Learn to draw from and strengthen your artistic
talents with individualized instruction according to age and skill level. Progress in
drawing, watercolor, painting, and calligraphy.

Learn the essence of capturing a still life composition in watercolor. Participants will
explore painting techniques including color, value, light, shadows, tone, scale,
texture, and reflections, as illustrated by master watercolorists such as Andrew
Wyeth, Winslow Homer, Paul Cézanne, John Singer Sargent, and Georgia O'Keeffe.
Working in the studio, students will learn to use both sketches and photos for visual
reference. Classes include demonstrations and lots of hands-on time.

Calligraphy (CLG300)

The application of beautifully formed letters to an invitation, card, or a hand-bound
storybook is an art as old as language itself. This class is designed for students who
are just starting out or for calligraphers wanting to refresh their skills. Warm up with
the Chancery letterform, and progress to Roman and Gothic lettering styles. Moving
beyond letterforms, the class will cover the practical application of calligraphy
including addressing, layout, invitations, signs, and illuminated art. Classes include
demonstrations and lots of hands-on time. Materials list online.

Moneymaking At Art Festivals (112COI60301D)

You have created an outstanding piece of art or craft and now you want to sell it. Learn
how to market and sell effectively at shows and festivals for profit. The class covers the
too often neglected business end of art: including marketing, promotion, necessary
equipment, how to display, pricing, working your booth, selling and business
administration. Classes will include demonstrations, lots of hands-on time and one-on-
one with the instructor.
